Riesling and Rarities Rock Festival 2016
While Germany is certainly known for its beer, their versatile white varietals are turning heads among wine aficionados in the Cape Winelands. The annual Riesling and Rarities Rock Festival showcases the finest Riesling Wines of the year on 23 January 2016 at the Hartenburg Wine Estate.
Riesling wines are known for their distinct aromas and are the perfect accompaniment to a wide array of cuisine. To pay homage to their greatness, South Africa's finest producers will be showcasing their flagship rieslings as well as some lesser known varietals.
Attendees can expect a garden party-styled event, offering vino-lovers the opportunity to sample glass-upon-glass of crisp dry wines as well as 'out-of-the-spotlight' varietals, such as Viognier and Semillion. Wines can be paired with a gourmet dishes from the deli stalls - sushi, oysters and anti pasti's will be up for the offering. For a more relaxed affair, pre-arranged picnic baskets can be enjoyed under the canopy of trees.
Following a morning of fine wines and good food, attendees can enjoy some live music performances. Please note that there is no entrance fee for children under the age of 16 years old.
Please note that booking online is essential as tickets are limited to 600 persons. The gates will open at 12pm and the event runs until 5pm.
